A Dark, Gothic Romantasy in the Making

What if your soulmate found you in every lifetime - even when love is forbidden.

Poetry That Turned Into a Love Story

Since I was young, a story began to linger in my mind and pervade my heart, and for years and years I was quite confused, why it wouldn’t leave me. I couldn’t name it for a long time. But I felt compelled to ink it onto paper, it was screaming from within me to get out, so I decided to put it into a book. Since I was 14, I have been writing short poems from time to time, just like that, in heavy moments, when I couldn’t find direction, or when I felt completely alone, with no one by my side to share my feelings.

Years passed, and I found my poems written everywhere, in notebooks, on simple peaces of paper. One day, a vision was finally born. I woke up with an idea, but I believe it had been in my subconscious all along, I just needed to acknowledge it.

I am convinced, when the right moment came, the idea revealed itself. I was certain all those poems had to become a book.

At the beginning, I thought it was going to be just one book, but when I decided to collect all my poems from notebooks and scattered pieces of paper, I realized a surprising truth: they all belonged perfectly together, forming a single, unique story that I had never planned to write. And yet, it was right in front of me, in the form of words imbued with heavy emotions. Every emotion was felt deeply in my heart.

Before writing my book, I had to filter every feeling through myself: in other words, it felt as if I lived through it all while writing. So I began drafting my first poetry book, but after careful consideration, I discovered another interesting truth: it wasn’t just one book. Over a time, I had collected so many poems that together they told a love story.

This is how my Love Poems trilogy was born. I have written three books of poetry, and in 2025 I had one more subconscious idea: to write a fourth book as a precursor to the first three. Even to this day, it’s not clear to me how it came to me to write the three books first, and then the fourth one last, containing poems that serve as an introduction to the entire story.

But, when it comes to my writing and art, I don’t let logic interfere at all. I don’t question it or to try to understand it. I’ve decided to follow my soul and my intuition; I know my soul won’t make mistakes when it comes to artistic creation. I will follow its voice faithfully.

Just when the poems had been finished, the story didn’t quite want to leave me yet. So it came to me in the form of a novel. One day I woke up and the visions began appearing in my mind: so vivid, so real, unfolding little by little, piece by piece. The scene and spaces became larger, containing more action and layers, the story began unfolding in mysterious directions, adding to the plot.I wrote it over the span of two months. Every day I would write up to 2k words, and some days 4k words. The story was flowing from me like a river. And I named it The Queen of the Black Moon.

It took me a few months to finish three drafts of the book, and the final draft was completed just before the New Year of 2026. After the New Year, I began the querying process and started searching for an agent: a soul who would understand the story my own soul wanted to tell. I am looking for a safe place and a home for my book, someone who will support it and treat it with care and love.

The Enchantment of my Storytelling

After I finished writing and drafting the book, I began analyzing it ,and I realized that although it falls into the romantic fantasy genre, the story carries deep emotions and themes from our everyday life: themes that are important to every individual and that we encounter from a very young age, expanding throughout our entire lives.

All of us have been at that point in life where we felt confused about whether we belong in this world. We searched for higher meaning, for our place in it, and for ways to adapt and to fit in. Through complex and layered characters my book shows that is completely normal, and even valuable, to stand out, build different paths, become a new example and lead. It is important to find our own identity, to understand who we truly are and why we are born. Alongside all other themes, the central topic of the book is love: the strongest force that moves worlds. It is powerful, but it can also be destructive. Life decisions are often made under the influence of strong love or infatuation, and sometimes those choices shape our destiny. This love is timeless, never ending, and continuous in all its forms and existences.

And with this book being written, I am giving this story a chance to live in this world, as it clearly wanted, so urgently and so passionately, to come here from another world. I hope whoever reads this book will understand what I am talking about.

The visions I see, I try to paint with words, using my own emotions to evoke all your senses and stir your feelings. Afterwards, we all find each other exactly within these pages, these words, where I act as a catalyst of the story, showing you my emotions so that you may feel your own.

When I am writing, I put all my energy and soul into it, because for me, connection is important, and emotions deepen connection.

Every vision is vivid, alive with a pulse, and I write it with sensory detail, because my aim is to transport you to other worlds.I like to blend otherworldly, other dimensional spaces with our reality.

In my writing I want to be authentic. I want to present my own writing code, my own stamp. Writing is a journey into other realms, where we all, together, explore magical moments, emotional experiences and vivid imagination.

One of the reasons I choose dark romantasy genre is that it contains contrasts: the continuous interplay of light and darkness, love and loss, beauty and despair.

In the realm of my books, I show the balance between the ethereal and the raw. The worlds I create feel both otherworldly and, at the same time, familiar, as if you know those unknown places from a distant past, from a subconscious mind.

The characters are complex souls, with secrets and desires, emotions and fears, traumas and pain. They show that love is not just a product of pure passion, but rather something deep that moves the soul, forcing transformation, and on the other hand, also a haunting urge to be vulnerable and completely destroyed.

Here we come to the question: What would you do for love? How far would you go for it?

Emotional Resonance

Here, I would like to share a quote from one of my favourite scenes in the book The Queen of the Black Moon.

“The moment the card touches my hand, I feel something passes through my body, flowing from the hand that holds it and spreading everywhere. It feels like electricity, tingling and stinging through my veins, consuming my blood at a rapid pace, as if a burning warmth is coursing through me. To my utter shock, my heart doesn’t race, instead, it slows so much that I can barely hear it beat. My heart falls almost silent, and I feel my life fading away.

I clutch the card and stare at it.

DEPARTMENT FOR THE HEARTBROKEN

It’s written above the black heart.”

To engage with my work is to embark on an emotional journey filled with beauty, love and glimpses of magical worlds. Through my lyrical storytelling, I open a door into a world where a language is like a living entity. Words have power, and in this world they are meant to move you, to challenge you and connect us all. My stories are not just told; they are made to be felt and lived.

As I close this blog post, I am left with a sense of gratitude and happiness. I hope that within my poetic narratives, you will find a light within yourself.

Let us explore these realms together, guided by my luminous words, as I dare to dream magical dreams and bring you closer to the beauty of books.

The Queen of the Black Moon

THE QUEEN OF THE BLACK MOON explores the cost of emotion in a world that punishes it. The characters are trapped in a system that forces them to lose what makes them feel alive: their very souls. It features morally grey characters, a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, fated mates, a hidden beast guardian, a galaxy-wide legend, and a heroine cursed to love only the right one. The world they inhabit is visually rich, mythical, haunting and dreamlike. The novel carries emotional intensity, moral complexity and raw vulnerability. It is not about soft love, it is about real love.

My writing style has vivid descriptions and introspective emotional depth, my writing often includes a balance of poetic description and moments of vulnerability which is similar with the work of V.E. Schwab “The Shades of Magic”, and Leigh Bardugo “Shadow and Bone”.

In terms of themes and emotional resonance, my writing also shares qualities with Sarah J. Maas’s “A Court of Thorn and Roses” series, especially the way I blend physical action with emotional growth, and my ability to depict a world that feels both dangerous and beautiful at the same time.

My story would also appeal to fans of Victoria Aveyard’s “Red Queen” series that also delves into the tension between power and love, where the protagonist navigates a dangerous world ruled by strict power dynamics.

I often use magical realism with a lyrical and ethereal tone. My writing stands out in its sensitivity to emotional and psychological states. I put strong emphasis on internal conflict and self discovery, which gives my characters depth.

To my witting I want to give my own unique stamp and quality using introspection and poetic tone. My focus is on emotional depth, the human condition and vivid imagery.

I am highly creative and write intuitively, a beautiful way to express my authenticity through my visionary voice.

Playlist

I love the idea of creating a playlist for a dark romantic fantasy. The atmosphere of my story; eerie and mysterious, layered with tension and underlying romance, pairs perfectly with songs that evoke both haunting beauty and intense emotion. Here’s a curated list of tracks to match mood and tone of a love story that happens once in a life time:

  • The Night We Met by Lord Huron

This haunting ballad reflects longing, regret and the search for something or someone lost. I chose this song because it highlights moments of emotional reflection or the protagonist’s feelings about their mysterious connection to another character. The heartfelt pull toward something that once was but is no more.

  • Dark Paradise by Lana Del Rey

This song is a perfect match for moments when the protagonist feels torn between danger and desire, emotions and logic, heart and mind.

  • Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Rey

This hauntingly beautiful song brings a dark romantic quality to the idea of dreams, fate and fantasy adding a bit of danger to the classic sense of dreams in a fantastical world.

  • Interstellar Hans Zimmer

Epic, soaring instrumental piece that captures sense of vastness and tension.

  • Requiem For a Dream by Clint Mansell

This instrumental piece blends intense dramatic strings with subtle electronic elements, making it perfect for moments of heightened emotion of struggle.

  • Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez

Love didn’t feel possible or worth it until the right person made it real again. Finding the right person after period of loneliness or feeling lost.

  • My Love Mine all Mine by Mitski

Even if everything else is uncertain or temporary, love is something deeply personal and enduring. It’s about holding onto love as the only thing that truly matters in the end.

Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift

Dramatic, fleeting, almost tragic love. Something that burns bright but may not survive.

  • Enchanted by Taylor Swift

That moment of recognition. Meeting someone and instantly feeling they matter more than anyone else.

  • My Body is a Cage by Arcade Fire

This track has a dark, ethereal quality with themes of feeling trapped or conflicted. The protagonist's internal struggle and a pressure of a being in an unfamiliar possibly dangerous world.
